Describe an interesting neighbor
You should say:
• Who this person is
• How you know this person
• What this person likes to do
• And explain why you think this neighbor is interesting.
Sample answer 1
• Who this person is
I would like to admit that I am fortunate enough to live in an area that is surrounded by helpful and wonderful people. Durjoy, one of my neighbors, is always willing to help everybody.
• How you know this person
Durjoy lives in the house next to mine. We came to know each other while walking in the colony’s park. Initially, we didn’t talk much. After about 2 weeks, we started staying back in the park after walking for an hour or so. That is when we began talking about ourselves.
• What this person likes to do
• And explain why you think this neighbor is interesting.
Observing his behavior, I realized that he was extremely friendly with children playing in the park and helpful towards the senior citizens.
The more I got to know Durjoy, the more I started to admire him. Even though he works in a corporate company and stays busy most of the time, I have never seen him frowning on anybody. His perspective made me realize how beautiful it is to see life through rose-colored glasses. He lives with a motto to help others.
During the weekends, he always visits the orphanage to teach children. One thing is for sure that I can depend on him, regardless of the hour.
Sample answer 2
• Who this person is
I currently live in a densely-populated area with a multitude of households. However, if you ask me to give you an account of a neighbor who intrigues me the most, I would not hesitate to talk about [………]
• How you know this person
He is a special man who has an innate talent for singing and composing. He signed up for a well-known band and became their lead vocalist and song composer.
• What this person likes to do
He was born and bred in London and embarked on his singing career. He moved to live in close proximity to my house 2 years ago. I got to know him almost 2 years ago when I was a senior. He was undergoing a nerve-racking time (can’t find work-life balance, no me-time, up to ears with internship assignment, finals). I went to a coffee shop nearby and met him by chance, singing my favorite song. We talked to each other. It has been over 2 years since we met but we really hit it off.
He is a well-built person with broad shoulders and wavy hair. Very handsome and attractive, I must say. He’s also extremely kind, humorous and we have a lot in common.
• And explain why you think this neighbor is interesting.
To be honest, he is adored by all people in the neighborhood. I think he is the most awesome human being on earth. You know, lots of things will change down the road, and all relationships have their ups and downs, but I have a firm belief that we will not drift apart from each other and can maintain a good relationship/work at our friendship/cement our friendship forever.
